Hej! I'm Valeria from Venice, Italy. I can teach clarinet at any level. I've been playing Klezmer and Yiddish music since 2016, and, if you're interested, I can teach you traditional melodies/songs, the stylistic parameters, and the cultural context of this wonderful music! I have a classical background but my approach is quite open and I always try to follow the desires and needs of my students. I speak English and Skandinavisk (a mix of Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish). I am based in Stockholm, Sweden, where I teach IRL. On MUUV I can teach online through Zoom or elk.live (you need a good internet connection). I usually teach for circa 50 minutes / 400,- DKK per meeting. I am open to discussion in regard to the length and price of the lessons.

I've been playing the clarinet since 1990. I have a BA in classical clarinet from the Conservatory of Music in Adria, Italy, and an MA in Global Music (GLOMAS) from Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium of Århus. My field of expertise is Klezmer, Jewish instrumental folk music, which I have been teaching since 2013. I can also introduce you to the repertoire of Yiddish songs. In Stockholm, I lead the "Klezmer - Instrumental Ensemble" and "Jewish Music: Ensemble & Song" music courses at Paideia folkhöskola. I am also the organiser and leader of the Open-Air Klezmer Jam Sessions (tinyurl.com/oakjs) and I regularly perform with my band, Valeria's Klezmer Chariot.
